If accepted as an approved instructor, I will strive to uphold the mission of HaMoreh Ministries and the highest ideals of biblical theological training. I will review and affirm below the Statement of Faith found at the URL address provided above. Further, I will carefully review the curriculum materials for each course assigned to me. If I determine in good conscience that I have a substantive theological disagreement with any course content, I will immediately notify HaMoreh Ministries so that a suitable replacement course may be assigned to me. I hereby affirm the Statement of Faith of HaMoreh Ministries and agree to teach in accordance with and not contrary to it. I further agree that I will faithfully teach all courses as written and will decline to teach any course with which I have a substantive theological disagreement.

  • Please affirm the Statement of Faith by typing your name below.
  • THEOLOGICAL CONTINUITY

  • PLEASE NOTE This section of the General Instructor Application is for the sole purpose of identifying points for further discussion with the candidate in order to match instructors with appropriate courses for the best outcome. Instructors have varying backgrounds, beliefs, training, and experience. As a result, some instructors may be more suited to teach certain courses while other instructors may be better suited to teach other courses. Our goal is not to use this section to eliminate candidates, but to avoid unnecessary controversies and ensure continuity in the instruction delivered to our students in the field. Please answer each question with the multiple choice answer that best describes your belief or point of view. You will also have the opportunity to offer additional comments or clarifications for each question, if you choose.

  • A. Neo-Orthodox – The Bible contains the Word of God, but also contains historical, scientific, and theological error and should be regarded as a book of human origin wherein its meaning is ascribed by the reader.

    B. Liberal or Modernist – Good men wrote sacred texts which are not the Word of God per se, but rather ancient literature that contains historical, scientific, and theological error as well as kernels of truth which must be extracted from their texts.

    C. Natural Inspiration – Men of remarkable religious insight expressed their understanding of God and mixed with it their own experiences and views, thus producing texts which contain some historical, scientific, and theological errors.

    D. Verbal Plenary Inspiration – All of Scripture is inspired by God through human personalities, and is thus fully authoritative, sufficient, and without errors.

    E. Verbal Dictation – All of Scripture is dictated by God to human stenographers, and is thus fully authoritative, sufficient, and without errors.

  • Please choose the answer that best describes your view or choose “Other.”

  • A. Modalism – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one God who manifests Himself at different times as one or the other, but there are not three distinct persons in a single godhead.

    B. Polytheism – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each individual gods, who are independent and do not share a common essence.

    C. Trinitarianism – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons with one essence, and a true godhead exists wherein each of the three persons interacts with each other.

  • A. Traditional/Orthodox – Christians are baptized in the Holy Spirit at salvation.

    B. Pentecostal Belief – Baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by speaking in tongues and most commonly an event after conversion.

  • A. Cessationism – The sign gifts were given exclusively during the time of the twelve Apostles and ceased operation at their deaths (as soon as the New Testament was complete). This view typically relies upon a common principle that the purpose of the gifts was to validate the gospel message of the Apostles until the completion of the canon of Scripture, after which there was no further need of sign gifts.

    B. Continuationism – The sign gifts were introduced at Pentecost and remain active in the Body of Christ today. The Holy Spirit distributes these gifts throughout the Body of Christ as He chooses. This view typically relies upon empirical evidence for cessation, which adherents believe is lacking in Scripture.

  • A. Good works are necessary to secure and maintain one’s salvation, and back-sliding can result in losing one’s salvation.

    B. Salvation is by grace through faith as a result of regeneration and not through good works, though Christians should honor and obey God in doing them.

  • A. Premillennialism – Christ will return before a 1,000-year reign.

    B. Post-Millennialism – Christ will return after a 1,000-year reign.

    C. Amillennialism – A non-literal “thousand years” which is realized in the period before Christ’s first and second comings.

  • A. Expositional – The preacher preaches through one book of the Bible at a time (usually verse-by-verse) and allows the text to determine the central point and sub- points of the sermon.

    B. Textual – The preacher selects a text of Scripture in order to preach on a particular thesis (e.g. selecting 1 Corinthians 13 in order to preach on love).

    C. Topical – The preacher has a topic in mind (e.g. How to Raise Godly Kids) and develops a sermon using one or a variety of Scriptural texts in support and explanation of the topic.

  • A. Egalitarian View – There is no distinction between the sexes regarding leadership roles in the church. Key verse: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:28

    B. Complementarian View – Scripture teaches that only qualified men may hold the office of pastor (bishop or elder) in the church. Key verses: “But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 11:3; “It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife…one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?).” – 1 Timothy 3:1-5

    C. Plural Ministry View – Biblical limits on women in ministry were rooted in the cultural norms and social mores of the Ancient Near East and do not apply in modern societies today. Key verse: “‘AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS.'” – Acts 2:17

    D. Traditional View – Scripture teaches that women may not participate in leadership roles in the church. Key verses: “The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.” – 1 Corinthians 14:34; “But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.” – 1 Timothy 2:12
